Lately, I have been thinking about a simple question: why are we given this life in the first place?
Practically, if I go by my understanding and Islamic philosophy, I am here to worship Allah.
Now you may ask, if Allah has such an extreme power and angels already worship Him, why do ordinary humans need to worship Him?
Well, the angels are given orders and they follow them, whereas we are given the choice.
And I think that is the point.
It is not our worship that He needs. It is the choice we make that is most dear to Him. We are given the ability to choose between what is right and what is wrong, between what brings us closer to Him and what takes us away from Him.
It is not our worship that He needs. It is the choice we make that is most dear to Him.
Nowadays, every once in a while, everyone has this question: why are we living?
To succeed? No.
To be happy? No.
To be peaceful? No.
To be sad? No.
To be losers? No.
These are the standards set by us, but they aren't necessarily true.
We are travellers of time, with a defined timezone. Each of us is given a little purpose, to make the right choices and enjoy the journey called life.
And through this journey, we meet some kind souls, some weak souls whom we can nourish and lift up, and some strong souls from whom we can learn.
We learn from people. We learn from situations. We learn from our own mistakes.
But we never stop.
We are here to learn, see, observe and keep going.
A painful life with the best choices is the sweetest taste of success we will ever get.
It is all about choices.
The better choices, the choices that are according to what Allah wants from us, earn us rewards. And those rewards help us complete the quest and reach back home.
Those who cannot earn those rewards are forever lost in the maze of this world.
I feel a painful life with the best choices is the sweetest taste of success we will ever get.
Because life is not always supposed to be easy. Sometimes the difficult parts of the journey are what give our choices meaning.
We are travellers of time. We have a defined timezone. We have a little purpose.
So let's learn. See. Observe. Keep going.
Make the best choices you can.
And one day, when this journey ends, we go back home.
